Land in Delhi, meet your driver and transfer to your hotel. If you arrive early, visit Humayun’s Tomb and Old Delhi’s Jama Masjid; otherwise rest before tomorrow’s early start. Overnight in Delhi.
Drive to the Shekhawati region (about 5–6 hours). In the afternoon, walk through Mandawa’s lanes past havelis covered in painted frescoes of gods, trains and British officers. Overnight in a restored haveli hotel.
Drive to Bikaner (about 4 hours). Explore Junagarh Fort and its ornate palace rooms, then walk the old-city haveli lanes around Rampuria Street. An optional visit to the Karni Mata Temple at Deshnoke is possible. Overnight in Bikaner.
Drive west into the Thar (about 6 hours), watching the landscape open out into scrub and sand. Arrive in Jaisalmer for sunset by Gadisar Lake and an evening walk. Overnight in Jaisalmer.
Explore Jaisalmer Fort, one of the few living forts in the world, and the carved Patwon ki Haveli. In the late afternoon, drive 40 km to Sam Sand Dunes for a camel safari at sunset, followed by dinner, folk music and a night in a desert camp. Overnight in camp.
After sunrise over the dunes, drive to Jodhpur (about 5–6 hours) with a lunch stop on the way. In the late afternoon, stroll Sardar Market and the Clock Tower beneath Mehrangarh. Overnight in Jodhpur.
Visit Mehrangarh Fort as it opens, then Jaswant Thada’s marble cenotaph. After lunch, drive to Ranakpur (about 3.5 hours) and visit its intricately carved Jain temples during the afternoon hours when non-Jain visitors are admitted. Overnight near Ranakpur.
Drive to Kumbhalgarh (about 1 hour) and walk a section of its 36 km fort wall, one of the longest in the world. Continue to Udaipur (about 2 hours) and end the day with a sunset by Lake Pichola. Overnight in Udaipur.
City Palace museum, Jagdish Temple and the fountains of Saheliyon ki Bari, followed by a sunset boat ride on Lake Pichola. The evening is free for rooftop dining or shopping for miniature paintings. Overnight in Udaipur.
Drive to Chittorgarh (about 2.5 hours) and explore its vast hilltop fort and the Vijay Stambh victory tower, then continue to Bundi (about 3.5 hours). This is the longest day of the trip, with about 6 hours of driving broken by the fort. Overnight in Bundi.
Visit Taragarh Fort, the mural-covered Garh Palace and the stepwell Raniji ki Baori. Drive to Pushkar (about 4 hours) and reach the ghats by sunset for a quiet walk around the sacred lake. Overnight in Pushkar.

Yes, for the main circuit. Fourteen days covers Jaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Udaipur and Bikaner, plus Pushkar, Bundi and a desert-camp night, with only five days of 5–6 hours in the car. Shorter itineraries usually have to drop Jaisalmer or Bikaner.
No. This route stays within Rajasthan. If you want Agra too, we can add days at either end by combining it with one of our Golden Triangle tours.
Nights in December and January can fall close to freezing. The camp provides bedding, but bring a warm jacket, hat and gloves for the evening around the fire.
