VR

Route co-designed by Priya Sharma (North India) & Vikram Rawat (Uttarakhand & yoga specialist)

We paired our Jaipur-based guide with a Rishikesh-based specialist because the foothills run on their own rhythm: aarti timings, yoga teachers worth booking, and river conditions that decide what’s possible on a given day. It keeps the spiritual leg of the trip personal rather than a hurried transit.

Best Time to Visit & How Rishikesh and Haridwar Fit the Route

Best Season for This Itinerary

October to March suits the whole route, with February to April especially pleasant in the foothills. December and January nights in Haridwar and Rishikesh are cold, and fog can slow the drive from Delhi. Avoid July to mid-September: monsoon rain brings landslides on Himalayan roads and river rafting closes. April to June is hot in Haridwar. Note that the Haridwar Ardh Kumbh Mela is reported to run from 14 January to 20 April 2027; hotels fill early and the ghats are very crowded on bathing days, so tell us your dates and we plan around them.

How Delhi-Agra-Jaipur Connects to Rishikesh and Haridwar

The Delhi–Agra–Jaipur triangle itself is the usual ~720 km by road. Haridwar is about 215 km north of Delhi (roughly 5 hours) and Rishikesh sits a further 25 km up the Ganga, around 45–60 minutes. Because the foothills lie north of Delhi, this delhi agra jaipur haridwar rishikesh itinerary runs as two loops from the capital: the triangle first, then north and back. The whole route is roughly 1,200 km by road with no drive over 6 hours. Since the last day includes the drive back to Delhi, book an evening or late-night departure flight.

After a week of monuments, an early yoga class beside the Ganga in Rishikesh was exactly the reset we needed. Even as a beginner I felt welcome.

The evening aarti at Har Ki Pauri was overwhelming in the best way. Our guide knew where to stand to see it without being swept along by the crowd.

I appreciated that the long drives were broken up sensibly. The free day in Rishikesh let us explore at our own pace, with no schedule at all.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. The session suits beginners, and the teacher adapts to your level. If you already practise, tell us when requesting your quote and we can arrange a more advanced class.

It’s an optional extra. Rafting on the Ganga usually runs from mid-September to June depending on river levels and closes in the monsoon. Let us know when requesting your quote and we arrange it for the free day.

The Ardh Kumbh Mela at Haridwar is reported to run from 14 January to 20 April 2027, with heavy crowds and full hotels around the main bathing days. Tell us your travel dates and we plan around them or suggest alternatives.

Both towns are largely vegetarian and alcohol-free because of their pilgrimage status, so hotels and restaurants follow that. In Delhi, Agra and Jaipur, non-vegetarian food is widely available.

The drive takes about 5–6 hours, so we recommend an evening or late-night departure. Share your flight time and we can start earlier or add a final night in Delhi.

Varanasi is about ancient ghats and river rituals on the plains. Rishikesh and Haridwar sit at the Himalayan foothills, with yoga, riverside walks and optional rafting instead.
